Small Groups
Tech Team:
The purpose of this group is to enhance the ministry, outreach, and worship experience at Our Savior’s through the use of technology. The group strives to achieve this by operating technology with the highest professional standards in a manner that is respectful and reverent. Currently there are 4 groups that rotate each Sunday running the technological aspects of worship. This group requires people to be very focused and trained with the equipment. We are always looking for more Techs.
Prison Ministry:
Currently this group leads Bible studies on the first and fifth Saturday of every month at 9 am at the Medium Security Prison in Faribault. The ministry also leads a Worship service and Bible study the third sunday of the month at 9 am in the same prison. The purpose of the group is to respond to crime in a biblical way and in multiple areas – offenders, government, communities, churches and victims. The biblical standards of justice or biblical based restorative justice from a foundation where all entities com together and demonstrate rocnciliation and transformation. Currently there are 4 active members. There is training involved before someone can fully become part of the prison ministry. If anyone is interested in experiencing Prison Ministry it is possible to visit on one occation without any training. All are invited to participate.
Thursday Morning Women’s Circle:
This group meets the fourth Thursday of each month at the church at 9:30 am. The group spends time for fellowship, bible study and service project. All women are invited to join.
Prayer Chain:
The purpose of this group is to minister to others through the power of prayer. Prayer requests are made by calling the church office, filling out the form on our contact page, or calling Paula Hildebrandt. Currently there are 22 participants on the phone chain and 31 participants on the email chain. All are welcome to join.
Our Savior’s Quilt Group:
This group meets at various times throughout the year. The purpose of the group is for women of Our Savior’s to gather for fellowhip and enjoyment of sewing. The group assists one another in quilting and sewing. They also create quilts for fundraising purposes. There are currently 12 active members and all are welcome to join.
Prayer Shawl Ministry:
People who enjoy knitting and crocheting, or have a desire to learn, meet at the church on the 1st Thursday of each month from 7 – 9 pm to work on prayer shawls and baptismal blankets. Each time a craftsperson begins their work she begins with a prayer for the recipent of the blanket. Shawls and blankers are delivered to people in special need of prayer in Our Saviors and the community. All are invited to join, and people are willing to teach beginners.
Book Club:
This book club is for all those who love to read. Men and women are invited to join. Please contact Pastor Joanna Mitchell or Doug Goke if you are interested. The Book Club meets once a month.
Grace Circle:
Grace Circle meets once a month on the 4th Tuesday at 8:00pm. The group spends time in fellowship and bible study. All women are welcome to join.
Thursday Morning Women’s Faith Circle
The group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at church at 9:30am. The group spends time in fellowship, bible study and service projects. All women are invited to join.
Lamplighters
Meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 1pm in the All Purpose Room. The group gathers for fellowship, service and support. Each gathering has a short presentation, official business meeting and refreshements. This group seeks to give support to one another by contributing to each other spiritual, physical, mental and social needs. The Lamplighters send cards to those who are going through trying times; they also serve refreshments at the church following funerals. Currently there are 35 members. All retired persons are welcome to join.
