Growing Small Group Ministry at Our Savior’s

In the past year, over eight new small groups have started at Our Savior’s. We now have two women’s circles, two book clubs, two community groups (one of young families and another of parents of teenagers), an active prayer shawl ministry, two new bible studies, and fellowship groups for PrimeTimers and scrapbookers. Overall, our small group ministry is growing at Our Savior’s and allowing us to grow in our relationship with God.

Many people are hesitant to join a small group because of fear of the unknown and because of the time commitment. It often is difficult with our busy schedules to find time to schedule yet one more thing into our calendars. And yet, there are many blessings that come out of being a member of a small group.

If you are looking to get more connected with our church, or if you just haven’t found a place where you feel you fit in at Our Savior’s please consider joining a small group. A list of all current small groups has been compiled and is available for you to have on the kiosk in the narthex, or on the small group section of the adult activites page on this website. If there is not a group that suits what you are looking for, consider starting your own small group.

Getting a Small Group Started

Our Savior’s Small Group Ministry Team has put together a worksheet to assist people in starting new small groups. If you have an idea for a small group fill out this form and stop by to see Pastor Joanna Mitchell at the church.

You do not need to be an expert to be a small group facilitator. A small group facilitator is a person who organizes the group, and helps people connect.
