Summer 2016 will bring our High School students to the Adirondack Mtns, NY
This year 31 – 9th through 12th grade students and 5 adult chaperones have signed up for this amazing adventure. This trip will be an awesome time of fellowship with your peers, getting to know new people, serving in a small town community, and faithfully serving in the name of Christ! We hope you will all join us.
Registration for the trip is currently closed! Watch for 2017 trip in December of 2016!!
Fundraising: There will be several fundraising opportunities for the students this year. We never want the cost of a trip to prohibit anyone from attending this trip! Please see one of the Pastors or Kira with any questions!
Where have we been?
2015: AT HOME MISSION WORK in Faribault, MN
2011: Bayou La Batre, Alabama AND Rapid City, South Dakota
2010: Sr. High- Raleigh County, WV
Packed into three 15-passenger vans, 44 of us set out to help serve in the Beckley, WV area. Although we missed having the opportunity to work with kids, we were still able to serve families and meet other needs of the community.
A Twins game in Cleveland and a time at the beach on Lake Michigan were highlights during the trip home.
The Middle School group went to Kansas City, MO
This was a great week of serving people in the inner-city of Kansas City. The students really discovered the joy of reaching out and developing relationships with others – whether they were people in need or those working by their side.
We traveled to Lame Deer, Montana which is on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Students split their time between working with a Kids Club program and ministering to families through both work and building relationships. After getting rained out for our final night camping in South Dakota we drove all night arriving home early in the morning on August 1st.
This group spent a week in Milwaukee working alongside local ministries that serve the poor, the sick or mentally challenges, or that simply minister the GOOD NEWS of JESUS CHRIST to others. The trip ended with a visit to a water park in Wisconsin Dells and camping at a Wisconsin State Park.
everyone, and then we loaded another bus to travel across the border. We worked with YouthWorks finishing up the construction of two new homes and ministering to young children (A little more Spanish for many of us would have helped).
The Middle School group had a great trip to Rapid City, SD, which is right near Mt. Rushmore. The drive got a little long for some (especially the drivers), but overall it was a great opportunity to see God at work, and how he can use us to to share his love with others.
We rode a charter bus to Gulfport, Mississippi and had a hot, fun week serving those still affected by Hurricane Katrina. Even with temperatures above 100 degrees and high humidity, this group kept going strong for the whole week. Of course, while we drove back from our worksites for the day and sometimes “cranked” the music, I was unaware of how many were so exhausted they were sleeping in the back!
Middle School Mission Trip:
We stayed a bit closer to home, and this years trip to Duluth was our first trip in a while where we did not leave Minnesota. Service projects here included working with the elderly, serving in soup kitchens and helping with children’s ministries. A day spent along Lake Superior ended the trip – and the frigid waters were very welcome as we experienced some hot weather up North.
