Worship

Ministry at Our Savior’s begins with worship when we gather to hear the Word of God and grow in our relationship with Jesus.  Worship at Our Savior’s is a celebration. It is the center of life together as God’s people. We receive reassurance of God's love in our lives through Word and Sacrament, songs, hymns, and practical, relevant messages from the pulpit. We encourage people to worship at Our Savior’s regularly. Your presence at worship is a gift you provide to all the others who worship.

What to Expect When You Worship at OSLC

MUSIC
Our worship services include music styles that range from traditional, organ-led hymn singing to band-led praise music.

COMMUNION
Here at OSLC, we believe all are welcome to receive God's grace through Christ's body and blood in the bread and wine of Holy Communion. When we say "All are welcome," we really mean everyone, regardless of age, denominational background, church membership status, or anything else. God's gifts of grace, mercy, and abundant life through this meal are FOR YOU, period. We celebrate communion by intinction (dipping) on the first and third Sundays of every month and on the Wednesdays that precede those Sundays during the school year. Because we are committed to the practice of welcoming all to Christ's table, we extend that to our homebound members through monthly visits from our Communion Companion ministers.

CHILDREN
We joyfully welcome children in our worship space and practices - including a prayground with quiet toys in the sanctuary, activity bags for use in the pews, and a young people's message from a pastor. Wednesday evening worship time includes significant leadership from our children and youth, including ushers, readers, and communion servers.

PRAYGROUND & NOAH'S NOOK
While the sounds that children make are most welcome in the Sanctuary, we recognize that concerns about disturbing others can hinder a parents’ ability to focus on worship. The Prayground is looked on the south side of the Sanctuary and is intended to help occupy small children (5 and under) with gentle and quiet play toys and activities. We also offer Noah’s Nook, located outside of the sanctuary in the Narthex. Sound is piped in, so parishioners can both see and hear what’s happening in worship while children can play freely.

INTERPRETERS
We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all our members and guests. To ensure that our deaf community can fully participate in worship and church activities, we provide skilled interpreters at our services. Our interpreters are dedicated to accurately conveying the messages, prayers, and music, allowing everyone to engage deeply with our faith experience. We strive to make our church a place where everyone feels valued and included, celebrating the diversity of our congregation and the unique gifts each person brings.
