About Us

Our Story

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church was founded in 1968 by a faithful group of individuals who felt called to create a vibrant, welcoming church community in Faribault. The photograph shown here captures many of our founding members gathered once again at our 50th anniversary celebration—a powerful reminder of the vision and commitment that helped shape our congregation. Their legacy lives on through our continued mission of worship, service, and community, as we honor the past while embracing the future with faith and gratitude.

We Believe Faith Grows Here

Rooted in God's Love

At Our Savior's Lutheran Church, our faith is deeply rooted in God's unwavering love, which is most fully revealed to us in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This divine love is the foundation upon which our church stands and grows. It guides us in our worship, our actions, and our relationships with one another. We are committed to nurturing a loving and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and accepted. God's love compels us to reach out to those in need, offering compassion and hope to our community and beyond. As we grow in our faith, we remain firmly grounded in the knowledge that God's love is ever-present and all-encompassing.

Gathered in Christ's Community

Called by the Holy Spirit, we gather as Christ's community, embracing the diversity and unity that comes from being part of the body of Christ. Our congregation is where individuals and families come together to worship, learn, and serve, united by our shared belief in Jesus Christ. We celebrate our differences, knowing everyone brings unique gifts and perspectives that enrich our communal life. We find strength, encouragement, and belonging in this fellowship. Together, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space where all can experience the transformative power of God's grace and love. We rejoice in how diversity has enriched, nurtured, and challenged our lives and ministry in Christ. We invite all to participate in Word and Sacrament without discrimination based on race, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, physical ability, or financial status.

Springing into Joyful Discipleship

Our faith journey at Our Savior's is marked by joyful discipleship that springs from our love for God and each other, and it propels us out into the world to seek peace and justice for our neighbors near and far. We are dedicated to living out our faith in dynamic and engaging ways, participating in acts of service, peace & justice building, and spiritual growth, both within the congregation and our wider communities. This joyful discipleship is a personal and communal endeavor as we support one another in our spiritual journeys. By embracing this joyful approach, we inspire and encourage each other to live out our faith enthusiastically, reflecting Christ's love in all we do. Our actions and commitments demonstrate that faith grows here at Our Savior's.

We are a congregation of the ELCA

We know that religion is imperfect in its institutions, but we are proudly connected to this larger body because we believe we are better together. We recognize that we have differences, even within our congregation, regarding how we see God working in our world, but we believe that our common witness is strengthened when we are connected. We are the church together, freed by God’s grace to love and serve our neighbors. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with nearly 3.3 million members in more than 8,900 worshiping communities across the 50 states and in the Caribbean region.
